VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
A bill
TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY ADDING SECTION 1-3-70 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE GOVERNOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE HIRING AND REMOVAL OF ALL STATE AGENCY HEADS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 3, Title 1 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:
Section 1-3-70. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Senate, is responsible for the hiring and removal of all state agency heads.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
