VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
A bill
TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY ADDING SECTION 8-11-164 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY MAY SUSPEND A STATE AGENCY HEAD BY THE PASSAGE OF A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 1, Chapter 11, Title 8 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:
Section 8-11-164. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the General Assembly may suspend a state agency head by the passage of a concurrent resolution. The concurrent resolution must specify the length of the suspension and whether the suspension is with or without pay.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
