A house RESOLUTION

 

to amend rule 8.9 of the rules of the house of representatives, relating to motion procedures, so as to allow a motion to vacate the speakership.

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

 

That Rule 8.9 of the House of Representatives is amended to read:

 

            8.9       When a motion is made during a motion period, the Speaker shall entertain but one motion at a time and there shall be no substitute motions considered.  The same motion may be entertained consecutively during the motion period. During the motion period, among other motions, the motion to vacate the speakership is an allowable motion.
