The bill amends Chapter 17-19 of the General Laws regarding the conduct of elections by introducing a new section titled "Voting interference." This section prohibits employees, agents, or officials of Federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from entering or remaining within two hundred feet (200') of any polling place while voting is being conducted, which includes both early voting and election day voting. The only exception to this prohibition is if an ICE employee, agent, or official is present to vote and complies with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
