The bill amends the legislation governing the North Tiverton Fire District by reducing the number of tax assessors on the administrative board from six (6) to four (4), effective following the annual meeting in 2026. This reduction will occur only through the voluntary resignation of duly elected tax assessors during their elected terms, such that if any elected tax assessor resigns, their position will not be filled, and the number of tax assessors to be elected at the next annual meeting will be reduced until there are only four (4) tax assessors remaining.

The act will take effect upon approval of this amendment by the electors of the North Tiverton Fire District.
