The resolution congratulates the Wheeler School team and their coach, Dayna Cueva Alegria, for winning 1st place at the 43rd Rhode Island Academic Decathlon held on March 1, 2026. This annual competition tests high school students' knowledge across ten subject areas and included participation from seventeen schools and over 200 students. The theme for this year's decathlon was "The Roaring Twenties," and the Wheeler School team successfully defended their title as champions.

The resolution also highlights the accomplishments of Wheeler School team members at the National Academic Decathlon finals, where Daniel Shea earned multiple medals in Science, Essay, and Math, and Philip Spradlin received a Silver Medal in Math. The House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island officially commends the team and directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Coach Alegria.
