The bill amends Chapter 20-23 of the General Laws by adding a new section, 20-23-2, which establishes the framework for the reciprocal enforcement of boating and fish and game laws in the waters lying between Connecticut and Rhode Island. It specifies that if Connecticut enacts a similar law regarding the arrest and punishment for violations of these laws, authorized personnel from either state, including game protectors, conservation officers, fish and game wardens, and patrolmen, will have the authority to make arrests in the shared waters. Those arrested will be taken to the state where the violation occurred for prosecution according to that state's laws. Additionally, the section will take effect if Connecticut has such a law in effect as of the effective date of this section. The act will take effect upon passage.
