The House of Representatives of the State of Rhode Island has introduced a resolution expressing deep condolences on the passing of Sylvia A. DeLuca, a beloved member of the community from Saunderstown. Sylvia was the devoted wife of the late Honorable Anthony DeLuca, with whom she shared a loving marriage for sixty-six years. Born in Providence and raised in Cranston, she was a graduate of Cranston High School East and Bryant College. Sylvia had a successful career as a bookkeeper and later as an Administrative Assistant at the University of Rhode Island's Bay Campus, where she was affectionately known as the "key lady" for her reliability and helpfulness.

Sylvia was known for her professional contributions as well as her remarkable talents and deep love for her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, painting, and had a passion for art and design, particularly influenced by Asian aesthetics. Sylvia is survived by her children, grandchildren, and extended family, and she is remembered for her wisdom, generosity, and the love she shared with those around her. The resolution concludes with the House extending its heartfelt sympathy to her family and authorizing the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to them.
