Mr. Choiniere, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, was born in Providence and is survived by his wife Elizabeth, their daughters, and grandson, along with many extended family members. He was a talented athlete, excelling in baseball and football during his high school years and later playing at Providence College and in the Cape Cod League. His dedication to education as a history teacher and guidance counselor at Wickford Middle School positively impacted many students.
In addition to his educational career, Mr. Choiniere was actively involved in his community, coaching youth sports, organizing educational trips, and participating in political campaigns. He also worked as a policy analyst in the Rhode Island Speaker of the House's office until his retirement in 2012. Known for his generosity, integrity, and mentorship, Mr. Choiniere's life exemplified perseverance and optimism. The resolution honors his legacy of service and compassion, and a certified copy will be sent to his family.
