This bill permits the Quonset Development Corporation to acquire, own, maintain, and control all lighting equipment, including streetlights, located within the Quonset Business Park. It adds a new section (39-30-6) to Chapter 39-30 of the General Laws, allowing the corporation to have the same rights as municipalities regarding the acquisition of lighting equipment currently owned by electric distribution companies or municipalities. The Quonset Development Corporation must compensate the current owners in accordance with the requirements set forth in 39-30-3(b).

Additionally, the bill amends Section 42-64.10-6 of the General Laws to expand the powers and duties of the Quonset Development Corporation, explicitly granting it the authority to manage all lighting equipment within the Quonset Business Park. This includes the ability to install, relocate, abandon, and remove such lighting equipment at the corporation's discretion. The act will take effect upon passage.
