The Rhode Island House of Representatives has introduced a resolution to celebrate the 84th Anniversary of the Seabees on March 5, 2026. Established in 1942 by Rear Admiral Ben Morrell in Davisville, Rhode Island, the Seabees were formed to meet the urgent need for construction and maintenance of overseas military bases during World War II. Over 350,000 Seabees served in various theaters of war, facing extreme conditions while building essential infrastructure such as piers, hospitals, and airfields, which supported U.S. military operations.

The resolution acknowledges the Seabees' significant contributions to the nation during both wartime and peacetime, highlighting their reputation for ingenuity, courage, and a strong work ethic. It recognizes their service in all modern conflicts, from World War II to the present, and expresses gratitude for their dedication and sacrifices. The House of Representatives congratulates the Seabees on this milestone and directs the Secretary of State to send a certified copy of the resolution to Rear Admiral Bradley J. Andros, Commander of the Navy Expeditionary Combat Command.
