The bill amends Section 42-128-8.1 of the Rhode Island Housing Resources Act to allow the town of North Providence to receive a one-half (1/2) credit for affordable housing units for manufactured homes located in age-restricted communities. These manufactured homes must comply with all zoning laws and ordinances of the town, specifically requiring that residents be fifty-five (55) years or older. Additionally, the community must be approved according to the town's zoning, land development, and subdivision ordinances and must be licensed annually by the town. The act will take effect upon passage.
