The bill amends Section 5-19.1-31 of the General Laws in Chapter 5-19.1, titled "Pharmacies," to expand the scope of immunizations that pharmacists can administer to individuals aged three to eighteen years. It includes routine, scheduled, or recommended immunizations in addition to the previously specified immunizations. Parental consent remains a requirement for all immunizations administered to individuals under eighteen.

The bill also mandates that pharmacists electronically report all administered immunizations to the Department of Health within seven days and notify the patient's primary care provider within fourteen days, if known. The Department of Health is tasked with ensuring that pharmacists make a good-faith effort to identify the primary care provider for reporting purposes. If a patient does not have a primary care provider, the pharmacist must still fulfill the reporting requirements. The act will take effect upon passage.
