The bill amends Section 3-7-19 of the General Laws in Chapter 3-7, "Retail Licenses," to allow the board of licenses of the city of Providence to exempt certain proposed retailer licenses from existing proximity restrictions to schools and places of worship. Specifically, the bill provides that the board may grant an exemption for a proposed retailer Class C, Class B, or Class BV license intended to be located at 819 Westminster Street, Plat 029, Lot 129 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. This act would take effect upon passage.
