The bill amends Section 42-128-8.1 of the Rhode Island Housing Resources Act, introducing provisions that allow the town of Johnston to receive a one-half (1/2) credit for affordable housing units for manufactured homes located in age-restricted communities. These manufactured homes must comply with local zoning laws and ordinances, and residents must be fifty-five (55) years or older. The community must also be approved according to the town's zoning, land development, and subdivision ordinances, and the homes must be licensed annually by the town. The act will take effect upon passage.
