The bill amends Section 44-3-3 of the General Laws in Chapter 44-3, which addresses property subject to taxation, by adding a specific exemption for the real and tangible personal property of Higher Ground International, a Rhode Island domestic nonprofit corporation, located at 7 Ninigret Avenue, within the city of Providence on Tax Assessor's Map, Plat 43. The bill removes a previous exemption for the Pokanoket Management Group. It does not alter existing exemptions for properties owned by the state, federal government, educational and religious organizations, military purposes, burial grounds, and charitable organizations. The act is set to take effect upon passage.
