The bill amends Chapter 45-6 of the General Laws, titled "Ordinances," by adding a new section, 45-6-13, which authorizes the city of East Providence to issue and revoke licenses for any person or business entity seeking to operate a hotel, motel, inn, boardinghouse, or catering establishment. The city is empowered to establish reasonable fees for the issuance and revocation of these licenses and to promulgate reasonable rules and regulations regarding their duration, location, number, and operation within the city. Prior to the issuance of a license by the city clerk, any applicant must first obtain approval from the chief of police, the building inspector, and the mayor. This act is set to take effect upon passage.
