The Rhode Island General Assembly has introduced a joint resolution to rescind, repeal, and cancel any and all prior applications made to the United States Congress for calling a convention to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution under Article V. This resolution nullifies all past applications, regardless of their nature or timing. The resolution is sponsored by Representatives Handy, Fogarty, Cortvriend, Potter, Edwards, and McEntee, and was introduced on February 12. It has been referred to the House State Government & Elections Committee.
