The bill amends Chapter 23-17.30 of the General Laws, titled "Primary Care Training Sites Program," by adding a new section that mandates the appropriation of funds for the program. Specifically, it stipulates that for the fiscal year 2026 and thereafter, the State of Rhode Island shall appropriate the sum of two million seven hundred thousand dollars ($2,700,000) to support the training of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants within the program established pursuant to the provisions of this chapter. The funds appropriated under this section will be administered by the Department of Health. This act will take effect on July 1, 2026.
