The bill introduces the "Burrillville and Glocester Public Notice Act" as a new chapter in Title 45 of the General Laws, specifically aimed at modifying public notice requirements for the towns of Burrillville and Glocester. Effective January 1, 2027, the bill allows these municipalities to publish required notices not only in a public newspaper but also in any newspaper that is in general circulation within either town. Additionally, it permits the use of other designated digital or print platforms selected by the town councils, provided these platforms can be reasonably demonstrated to reach a larger portion of the population within each municipality than a newspaper in general circulation. The act will take effect upon its passage.
