The Rhode Island House of Representatives has passed a resolution congratulating Colonel Michael Lima on his appointment as the new Chief of Police for the City of Warwick. Over his 21 years of service in Warwick, he has demonstrated exceptional work ethic, leadership, and integrity, which led to his recent promotion to Police Chief.
In his new role, Chief Lima aims to enhance community engagement by fostering stronger relationships with the public and local leaders, emphasizing the importance of police presence beyond crisis situations. He is also dedicated to improving the department's health and wellness programs, particularly by normalizing access to mental health services for officers. The resolution recognizes his achievements and directs the Secretary of State to send a certified copy of the resolution to Chief Lima.
