The bill amends Chapter 25-2 of the General Laws by adding a new section that designates the month of May as "Rhode Island Native Plant Month." This month shall be observed annually with appropriate ceremonies and activities to recognize and educate the public about the importance and history of Rhode Island's native plants and the need to preserve them. The act will take effect upon passage.
