The bill amends Chapter 31-27 of the General Laws, titled "Motor Vehicle Offenses," by introducing a new section, 31-27-26, which establishes a procedure for motorists who receive moving violations that can be paid without a court appearance. Under this new provision, any motorist who pays the fine in full within thirty (30) days of receiving the moving violation shall not have the violation recorded on their driving record; provided, however, that this procedure may not be utilized more than twice in one year. The act will take effect upon passage.
