The bill amends Section 3-7-19 of the General Laws in Chapter 3-7, "Retail Licenses," to allow the board of licenses of the city of Providence to exempt a proposed retailer Class B liquor license intended to be located at 150 Broadway, Plat 25, Lot 143 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map, from existing proximity restrictions related to schools and places of worship. Specifically, the bill states that notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the board of licenses shall have the authority to grant this exemption after application. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
