The bill amends the Rhode Island Lobbying Reform Act by adding a new section that prohibits lobbyists from making political contributions to members of the general assembly during a specified period. Specifically, lobbyists are barred from making any contributions from January 1 through July 1 of any year, unless the general assembly has adjourned its business for the year prior to July 1 of that session year. This act will take effect upon passage.
