The bill amends Chapter 40-8 of the General Laws regarding "Medical Assistance" by adding a new section, 40-8-33, which provides that licensed independent clinical social workers are entitled to enroll and bill Medicaid directly for authorized and/or covered services provided to adults with Medicaid fee-for-service coverage. This provision ensures that these professionals can receive Medicaid reimbursement for their services. Additionally, the bill directs the director to develop and promulgate a fee schedule and any necessary rules or regulations required to implement the provisions of this section. The act is set to take effect upon passage.
