Costigan on her recent selection as the 6th President of the Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI), making her the first alumna and the second woman to hold this position. Her career at CCRI has included various roles, such as faculty member, Department Chair, Assistant Dean of Nursing Education, and Vice President for Academic Affairs, culminating in her appointment as Interim President in September 2023.

During her tenure as Interim President, Dr. Costigan has played a key role in leading the college through significant growth and transformation, achieving a 10-year reaccreditation and securing the largest private donation in the college's history.
