The Senate of the State of Rhode Island expresses its profound sorrow over the passing of Roger A. Savini, a cherished member of the North Smithfield community and beloved husband of Micheline Savini for 51 years. Born in Woonsocket, Roger was the son of Arthur William and Jeanne Ledoux Savini and was known for his entrepreneurial spirit, having owned popular local establishments such as Savini's Restaurant and Ciro's Tavern, which were celebrated for their family-friendly atmosphere and quality food. Before venturing into the restaurant business, he had a successful career at General Motors and as a real estate broker, and he also owned several other local businesses.

Roger Savini was an active community member, frequently seen at local social clubs and enjoying leisure activities such as blackjack and family vacations to Aruba. He is survived by his daughters, grandchildren, and siblings, along with many extended family members. In light of his contributions to the community and the impact he had on those around him, the Senate extends its deepest condolences to the Savini family and directs the Secretary of State to send a certified copy of this resolution to Mrs. Micheline Savini and her family.
