The Rhode Island House of Representatives has passed a resolution congratulating the East Greenwich/Toll Gate Co-Op Boys Ice Hockey Team for winning the 2024-2025 Division II Ice Hockey Championship. In their second year as a combined team, they achieved a remarkable 22-2 record and entered the playoffs as the top seed. The team demonstrated their skill by sweeping North Kingstown in the first round and defeating Cumberland in the semi-finals, ultimately facing Portsmouth in a championship game that they won in overtime with a decisive goal from Jack Kiernan.
The resolution recognizes the teamwork and dedication of the players, as well as the coaching efforts of Head Coach Jeff Giusti and Assistant Coach Max Hagenburg. It emphasizes the contributions of all team members, noting that their collective effort and commitment were crucial to this significant achievement in Rhode Island interscholastic athletics. The House of Representatives has directed that a certified copy of the resolution be sent to Coach Giusti to commemorate this accomplishment.
