The resolution recognizes the significant contributions of Rhode Island's Community Health Centers, which have been providing high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive health care services for over fifty years. These centers serve more than 200,000 residents, offering a range of services including medical, dental, and behavioral health care, as well as additional support such as language interpretation and transportation. With a workforce of over 2,148 health professionals, these centers not only deliver essential health services but also contribute to the state's economy by creating jobs and generating substantial economic activity.

In honor of their impactful legacy, the resolution proclaims May 22, 2025, as "Rhode Island Community Health Center Day." This day is intended to celebrate the vital role these health centers play in the state's health care system and their commitment to meeting the needs of the communities they serve through patient-majority governance. The resolution also directs the Secretary of State to send certified copies to the various Community Health Centers in Rhode Island, acknowledging their contributions and encouraging continued support for their mission.
