The Rhode Island House of Representatives has passed a resolution honoring James R. Hoyt for his 50-year career with the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket. Mr. Hoyt began his tenure with the organization in 1976 as a part-time physical education staff member and advanced through various roles, ultimately becoming the CEO in 2004. Under his leadership, the Club significantly expanded its programs, resulting in increased attendance and a successful capital campaign that raised $8 million for expansion. He is also preparing for the Club's 125th Anniversary celebration in 2025.
In addition to his work at the Boys & Girls Club, Mr. Hoyt has been actively involved in the community, serving on various boards and committees, including the Pawtucket Riverfront Commission and the Pawtucket Lions Club. His dedication has earned him multiple accolades, including the Professional of the Year for the Northeast region and induction into the Pawtucket Hall of Fame in 2022. The resolution expresses gratitude for his commitment and impact on the lives of many young people and the community, wishing him well in his future endeavors.
