The bill amends Section 3-7-19 of the General Laws in Chapter 3-7, "Retail Licenses," to allow the board of licenses of the city of Providence to exempt a proposed Class B liquor license for the property located at 1039 Douglas Avenue, Plat 102, Lot 1 of the applicable city of Providence tax assessment map. This exemption is granted notwithstanding the existing provisions that typically restrict the issuance of such licenses based on proximity objections from adjoining property owners, schools, and places of worship. The act is designed to take effect immediately upon passage.
