The resolution congratulates the winners of the 13th Annual ProStart High School Competition, a hospitality career-building program organized by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. The event, hosted by the Rhode Island Hospitality Education Foundation, featured six local teams competing for $700,000 in scholarships and the opportunity to represent Rhode Island at the National ProStart Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland. The competition included three areas: Culinary Arts, Foodservice Management, and Hospitality Tourism Management, with over fifty industry professionals serving as judges.

The resolution specifically recognizes the achievements of the winning teams from William M. Davies, Jr. Career and Technical High School and Chariho Area Career & Technical Center. The first-place Culinary Team from William M. Davies included Bobbi Calder, Abigail Grullon, and Aliyah Dantzler. The Foodservice Management Team winners were Kenadee Houle and Adrianny Jimenez, also from William M. Davies. The Hospitality and Tourism Management Team that took first place was from Chariho Area Career & Technical Center, consisting of Gavin Apice, Molley Kennedy, Morgan Allen, Olivia Swanson, and Juliet Costa. The resolution extends congratulations to these students and wishes them success at the upcoming national competition.
