The bill amends Section 42-12-25 of the General Laws in Chapter 42-12, which pertains to the Department of Human Services. It introduces new provisions related to child care training, accreditation, technical assistance, and monitoring. The General Assembly is required to annually appropriate funding to the Department of Human Services for the hiring of additional state child care licensing inspectors to meet the National Association for Regulatory Administration (NARA) recommended average of one inspector for every fifty (50) to sixty (60) child care providers.
