The bill amends the "Consumer PFAS Ban Act of 2024" by introducing a prohibition on the manufacture, sale, or distribution of products containing intentionally added perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) starting January 1, 2027. Additionally, from January 1, 2029, the bill prohibits the sale of artificial turf and outdoor apparel for severe wet conditions containing PFAS unless accompanied by a clear disclosure statement. The bill grants the director of the relevant department the authority to require manufacturers to certify that their products do not contain PFAS or to notify sellers of prohibited products.

The bill includes an exemption for certain durable items containing PFAS that are authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for food contact, ensuring that such cookware is not subject to the restrictions of the PFAS ban. This act will take effect upon passage.
