The bill amends Chapter 27-38.2 of the General Laws, which pertains to insurance coverage for mental illness and substance use disorders. It introduces a new section, 27-38.2-7, that mandates every individual or group health insurance contract, plan, or policy delivered, issued, or renewed by an insurer, health maintenance organization, or nonprofit or for-profit health service corporation on or after January 1, 2026, to reimburse child service providers for therapy services offered through EOHHS certified Kids Connect/Therapeutic Services. The act will take effect upon passage.
