The House of Representatives of Rhode Island has passed a resolution expressing condolences on the passing of Michael Charles Gerhardt, a respected member of the community from Warren. Mr. Gerhardt was married to Doree Goodman for over forty years and had a distinguished career in health economics, beginning with the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and later holding leadership roles in various healthcare organizations, including Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. He was also known for his commitment to public service, serving on multiple boards and organizations, including the Barrington Planning Board and the Warren Land Trust.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Gerhardt was an avid sailor and enjoyed spending time on Narragansett Bay. He is survived by his wife, two sons, two step-sons, nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, as well as his siblings. The resolution honors his legacy and extends heartfelt condolences to his family, with certified copies of the resolution to be sent to his loved ones.
