The House Resolution honors Dr. Juana Parillon for her nearly forty years of dedicated service to the nation as a distinguished Marine Corps veteran and an Equal Opportunity Advisor. Dr. Parillon, a Dominican-American who immigrated to the U.S. at the age of five, has exemplified the values of hard work, integrity, humility, honesty, and trust throughout her life. She served over two decades in the Marine Corps, where she held various leadership roles focused on human relations, mediation, and conflict resolution, and was one of only 37 Equal Opportunity Advisors in the Marine Corps. Notably, she founded the Mentors in Action program in 2012, which engaged Marines in mentoring children in their communities, earning her recognition with Albany, Georgia's Forty Under Award.
In addition to her military service, Dr. Parillon is a sought-after public speaker, mediator, and conflict resolution consultant, contributing her expertise across various sectors, including non-profit, corporate, military, and higher education. She holds multiple degrees, including a Doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and has authored several articles, with upcoming publications planned for 2026. The resolution concludes by formally recognizing her contributions and directing the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to Dr. Parillon.
