The bill amends Chapter 22-6 of the General Laws by introducing a new section titled "Nonprofit funding transparency." It mandates that any nonprofit entity receiving grants or funding exceeding $50,000 from the General Assembly, either directly or through the state budget, must provide detailed information regarding employee compensation within 90 days of receiving the funds. Specifically, the nonprofit must disclose the total benefit package for the five highest compensated employees who earned at least $100,000 in the previous fiscal year. This disclosure includes a description of each position, total salary or compensation, and benefits such as health insurance, retirement or pension contributions, and any allowances for items such as automobiles, lodging, or communication devices, while omitting the names of the employees. The act will take effect immediately upon passage.
