The bill amends Chapter 16-45.1 of the General Laws regarding Career and Technical Education by introducing a new section that establishes a tuition formula for career and technical education programs. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is tasked with developing this formula in consultation with a workgroup composed of representatives from career and technical schools, the Rhode Island School Superintendents' Association, the Rhode Island Association of School Committees, the National Education Association, the Rhode Island Federation of Teachers and Health Professionals, and the Rhode Island Career and Technical Board of Trustees. The formula must be completed and submitted to the chairs of the Senate and House education committees by December 31, 2026.

Additionally, the bill mandates that the tuition for all career and technical programs be posted on the respective school district's website, and the sending school district is responsible for remitting the tuition to the district operating the program. The provisions of ยง 16-45-10 shall apply to this section. The bill is set to take effect upon its passage.
