The bill amends Section 46-23-4 of the General Laws concerning the Coastal Resources Management Council (CRMC). It establishes that a majority vote of those present is required for action, except that a super majority of three-fifths (3/5) of the duly appointed council is required to override a recommendation by the CRMC staff. The bill does not change the existing provisions regarding the selection of a chairperson and vice chairperson by the governor from the appointed members, nor the selection of a secretary by the council from its membership or staff. The act will take effect immediately upon passage.
