The Rhode Island General Assembly has introduced a resolution to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 916 Auxiliary, which was established on February 14, 1925, with 23 founding members. The Auxiliary has been instrumental in advocating for disabled veterans and their dependents, as well as promoting patriotism through community service. The VFW, founded in 1899, has grown to include 1.6 million members across 6,000 local chapters and has received support from notable figures, including eight former U.S. Presidents.

The resolution recognizes the dedication and hard work of the VFW Post 916 Auxiliary members, who have raised significant funds and volunteered countless hours for local and national charities. Their contributions have played a vital role in supporting Rhode Island veterans and ensuring they receive the assistance and rights they deserve. The Senate of Rhode Island officially celebrates this milestone and directs the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to the Auxiliary.
