The bill amends Section 31-10-31 of the General Laws regarding fees associated with operators' and chauffeurs' licenses. It introduces a new provision that exempts individuals who are aging out of foster care from paying the fee for their first operator's license until they reach the age of twenty-seven. Additionally, these individuals will also be eligible for a fee waiver for driver's education classes at the Community College of Rhode Island, as required by existing law. The fee waiver is applicable to individuals who are defined as no longer a child under the foster care system. The act will take effect upon passage.
