The bill amends Section 31-10-31 of the General Laws regarding fees associated with operators' and chauffeurs' licenses. It introduces a new provision that exempts individuals who are aging out of foster care from paying the fee for their first operator's license until they reach the age of twenty-seven. This exemption applies to those defined as children under the foster care regulations until they no longer meet that definition. Additionally, these individuals will also be eligible for a fee waiver for driver's education classes at the Community College of Rhode Island, as required by 31-10-19(e). The act is set to take effect upon its passage.
