The bill amends Section 11-67.1-20 of the "Uniform Act on Prevention of and Remedies for Human Trafficking" to require public and quasi-public transportation agencies to display a public-awareness sign containing the state and national human trafficking resource center hotline information at all transportation stations, rest areas, and welcome centers open to the public. Additionally, employers in specific sectors, such as strip clubs, job-recruitment centers, and hospitals, are mandated to display this sign in a conspicuous location for both employees and the public. A fine of $300 will be imposed on employers who knowingly fail to comply with this requirement, and this fine will be the exclusive remedy for such non-compliance.

Furthermore, the bill specifies that all monies assessed pursuant to this section shall be deposited into the violent crimes indemnity account within the general fund, which is established for the purpose of paying awards granted under the criminal injuries compensation act. The act will take effect upon passage.
