This bill mandates that, starting January 1, 2026, every individual or group health insurance contract, plan, or policy that provides prescription coverage and is delivered, issued for delivery, prescribed, or renewed in Rhode Island must include coverage for at least one type of glucagon auto-injector, nasal spray, or formulation that does not require reconstitution. The legislation specifies that there will be no copayment or deductible required to obtain two glucagon auto-injectors, nasal sprays, or non-reconstituted formulations every twelve-month plan year. However, a deductible may be applied to health plans that are paired with federally qualified health savings accounts. The bill allows health plans to implement this benefit prior to January 1, 2026.
