The Rhode Island House of Representatives has passed a resolution expressing their condolences on the passing of Violet Rose Little, the mother of former colleague Anastacia Williams. Mrs. Little, known as Rose, was born in the segregated Black communities of the Canal Zone in Panama and later immigrated to the United States with her husband, Benjamin Little. She earned degrees in Economics and Agency Counseling and dedicated her career to education and community service, including volunteering at the Rhode Island Food Bank and counseling single mothers.

Mrs. Little was actively involved in her church and community, serving in various capacities at Hood Memorial A.M.E. Zion and Ebenezer Baptist Church, where she contributed to charitable efforts and supported those in need. She is remembered for her vibrant spirit, commitment to helping others, and the love she shared with her family, including her five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The resolution concludes with a directive for the Secretary of State to send certified copies to her family.
