The bill amends Chapter 39-28 of the General Laws, known as the "Broadband Deployment and Investment Act," by establishing a new section titled "Broadband community outreach coordinator -- Affordable connectivity program." This new provision creates a broadband community outreach coordinator within the division of public utilities, whose role will be to assist state residents interested in learning more about and applying for the federal Affordable Connectivity Program. The act is set to take effect immediately upon passage.
