The resolution expresses profound sadness over the passing of Hilding T. Munson, who was a dedicated husband to Judith A. Munson for 48 years and a respected member of the community. A graduate of Bishop Hendricken High School and the University of Rhode Island, Mr. Munson served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era and had a long career that included roles as a paper carrier, florist delivery driver, Rhode Island State Correctional Officer, and a State Sheriff, retiring as a Sergeant. His most notable contribution was his 63 years of service with the Snug Harbor Volunteer Fire Department, where he held the position of Captain for twenty years and was currently the President.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Munson was deeply committed to community service, volunteering with the Special Olympics for over fifty years and actively participating in local veterans' activities. He was a man of faith, involved with Christ the King Church in Kingston. The resolution concludes by extending heartfelt condolences to the Munson family, including his children and siblings, and authorizes the Secretary of State to send a certified copy of the resolution to Judith A. Munson and her family.
