He also served as an assistant professor at the University of Rhode Island and held various positions in public relations and marine resources.
Throughout his life, Mr. Gray was actively involved in his community, taking on numerous philanthropic and leadership roles, including President of the Kingston Potter Trust and the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce. He served as a member and past President of the South Kingstown Town Council and as a Rhode Island State Senator for two terms. The resolution concludes by honoring Mr. Gray's legacy as a gentleman who significantly impacted the lives of those around him, extending heartfelt condolences to his family and directing the Secretary of State to transmit a certified copy of the resolution to them.
