The Honorable Brian Rea, who was elected to the Rhode Island House of Representatives in November 2022 to represent District 53, has been an active member of the House Education Committee, the House Finance Committee, and the House Small Business Committee. He is a graduate of Johnston High School and the Community College of Rhode Island, and has a background in public service as the Facilities Director for a Rhode Island State Charter Corporation. Additionally, he owns a convenience store and restaurant in Glocester. Representative Rea has been dedicated to his constituents, introducing and supporting various pieces of legislation aimed at improving affordable housing, assisting first-time home buyers, adjusting estate tax exemptions, and reducing local taxes.
Representative Rea is also deeply involved in his community, having served as Chair of the Smithfield Republican Town Committee and collaborating with the Conservation Law Foundation of Washington D.C. on initiatives to protect individual rights. He resides in Smithfield with his wife, children, and grandson. As he concludes his service in the Rhode Island House of Representatives, the House honors Representative Rea for his contributions and extends wishes for his future health, happiness, and success.
